I can fly up on high,
I swoop and dive,
Try to catch your eye.
Once you’ve seen me
You’ll fall in love,
Having gazed upon,
This graceful dove.
In my imagination,
I can swim like a fish,
To be caught by you,
My only wish.
It won’t matter to me,
That I can’t breathe,
To be by your side,
Is all that I need.
In my imagination,
I am the wind in your hair,
You won’t even see me,
Or know that I’m there,
But I can blow gently,
Over your face,
And then disappear,
Without a trace.
In my imagination,
I’m the moon in night sky,
High above you,
Whilst in bed you lie,
Watching over you,
While you sleep,
To make sure you’re safe,
Whilst in slumber deep.
In my imagination,
I’m a tree thick and long,
Branches to climb on,
Supportive and strong,
They grow apart,
Like arms held out wide,
To welcome you in,
They’re there as your guide.
In my imagination,
There is no pain,
Just happiness and health,
Sunshine and rain,
No need to worry,
No need to fret,
The worst that can happen,
I’ll get a bit wet.
In my imagination,
It isn’t so wrong,
When a kiss between friends,
Lingers just a little too long?
It tells me more about you,
Than you’ll ever know,
A seed of hope,
I’m willing to sow.
In my imagination,
I’ll hug you all night,
Be there when you hurt,
And help in your plight,
Feelings for you,
I’ll never shun,
But where is all this?
In my imagination.
